When should you give up?
By Maria Arias
Recently reading the book “Talent is Overrated”, I read about some studies that showed that many relevant people in music, sports, etc, didn’t have innate talent, but a lot of discipline and devotion to their work. The key to their talent was hard work!
I do believe we come to this world to learn, so we can achieve our ultimate goal of being happy. Being Happy is not only about having a rich and relaxed life, it is also about the satisfaction of helping others, to achieve things, to learn lessons to share and help others with, and to be proud of yourself. If you feel like you don’t have a certain talent, but it makes you happy to try, you should continue. Find ways to learn and to practice more, without being a nightmare for others and remember Never compare yourself with others! Everybody learns at their own pace and each person is unique. You need to find out for yourself whether this process is making you happy. If not, then think about the satisfaction of achieving it. Would that make you happy? Would it allow you to breathe deeply and improve your life? If the answer is yes, then continue. When should you give up? If you don’t see any more added value to your efforts, then it is time to give it up. If you are well connected to your inner self, you will know when you have reached that moment. Please don’t see it as a failure! See it like there are so many things in life that you want to do and therefore you cannot loss any more time on the things that no longer contribute to your happiness. Also sometimes you just need to let them rest... I sometimes do this with my paintings. Sometimes I have to walk away and do something else to clear my mind and then come back fresh and renewed. Then a miracle occurs and I am so happy with the result.

We learn a lot from our families. In my case, I saw my parents working hard …this was positive for me. Others see their parents giving up and not showing motivation, this in turn discourages them to follow their own development process. It is never easy… Otherwise everybody would do it! Today you have a chance to think for yourself! You cannot blame your past anymore, you are now FREE! And the world is waiting for you to discover it. You are worthy…give it to yourself. Fly high! Dare to dream! Give yourself a chance! Take a piece of paper and write down what do you want to achieve. Write the sentence as if you have already achieved it. For example: I am an Engineer, or I am a Doctor, or I am an Artist! My business is working perfectly! And remember to always add: Everybody is happy with this including me. Place it where you can see it every day! I will help you to make a more complete map in my next blog ‘The power of a wish’. For now the tips is this blog will help you to stay focused. Exciting!
